What independent CDL drivers need to know about the new electronic medical certification system. As of October 12, 2026, the official proof of medical certification is the electronic record, not the paper card.

How tens of thousands of improperly issued commercial licenses exposed a larger failure of oversight. More than 30,000 CDLs have been revoked after federal authorities determined they were improperly or illegally issued — and the transportation industry needs to ask how this happened.

Why cybersecurity, transportation safety and the cryogenic industry can no longer be separated. After 52 years in professional transportation, I believe the next major emergency may not begin with a tire failure or leaking valve — it could begin with someone sitting thousands of miles away at a keyboard.

After 52 years as a professional driver, I find myself asking a very different safety question: What happens when the computer itself becomes the hazard? Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT problem — it is a transportation safety issue.
"Professional driving is not unskilled labor. It is safety-critical operational responsibility."

"I didn't set out to write a book — I set out to survive the emotional, mental, and spiritual weight of life on the road. Over time, I realized the things I was learning in the cab were the same things other drivers were quietly wrestling with too."
Insider Transportation was founded on a simple conviction: professional drivers deserve to be recognised as skilled, accountable operators entrusted with public safety and economic continuity.
Driving is not a temporary task — it is a licensed discipline requiring judgment, mechanical understanding, regulatory knowledge, and personal integrity. This publication exists to elevate those standards across every sector of transportation.
We examine safety, regulation, technology, economics, and industry culture with clarity and balance — without sensationalism and without apology. Where systems fail drivers, we will say so. Where standards decline, we will challenge them. Professional respect is earned through conduct and sustained through accountability.
The professional driver remains the backbone of commerce and public mobility. Our commitment is to ensure that voice remains informed, principled, and uncompromising in its standards.
